Ballet Pensacola, Inc.
“A Timeless Tradition, Transformed: Lighting Upgrades for The Nutcracker”
Organizational Overview:
Ballet Pensacola is Northwest Florida's only resident professional ballet company and academy, serving over 20,000 individuals annually through high-quality performances, dance education, and community outreach. We are seeking funding to support the revitalization of lighting for our annual production of The Nutcracker, a cherished holiday tradition that unites audiences from diverse backgrounds across Escambia, Santa Rosa, and surrounding counties. This project will replace outdated lighting with modern, energy-efficient technology that enhances visual storytelling, improves accessibility, and ensures the production's longevity for future generations. By enriching a widely attended, culturally significant event, the project fosters community pride, artistic inspiration, and a welcoming environment for all. It directly supports Sunday's Child's mission to promote equality and inspire inclusion by investing in initiatives that celebrate diversity and expand access to shared experiences. This partnership allows both organizations to further their visions for a more accepting, connected, and vibrant Pensacola community.
Project Summary and Recognition of Sunday’s Child:
Ballet Pensacola's project will modernize the lighting for The Nutcracker, enhancing the production's artistic quality and audience experience. Taking place at the historic Saenger Theatre in downtown Pensacola, the project involves replacing outdated fixtures with energy-efficient ETC Color Source Lights, new 36-degree lenses, and a data node to improve precision and control. Sunday's Child grant funds will support the purchase of key lighting components, with remaining costs covered by additional funding. The project will be completed by November 15, 2026, in time for the holiday performances. Sunday's Child will be recognized in all Nutcracker marketing materials, programs, press releases, and social media, and acknowledged from the stage during performances. This visible recognition highlights the organization's commitment to inclusive community investment and cultural enrichment.
Diversity, Equality, and Inclusion:
Ballet Pensacola is committed to fostering diversity, equity, and inclusion in all areas of its work—from casting and training to community outreach and audience engagement. The Nutcracker revitalization project supports DEI by creating an inclusive, high-quality arts experience that reflects and welcomes the diverse Northwest Florida community. Through accessible performances, equitable Academy opportunities, and a strict non-discrimination policy, Ballet Pensacola promotes belonging and visibility for all. This aligns with Sunday's Child's mission and vision by investing in a cultural tradition that celebrates unity, uplifts LGBTQ+ and marginalized communities, and inspires a more accepting and inclusive Pensacola.
Community Impact:
The grant award will allow Ballet Pensacola to revitalize The Nutcracker with modern, energy-efficient lighting, significantly enhancing the production's artistic quality and accessibility. This upgrade will elevate the audience experience for thousands of community members, including families, students, and tourists, while ensuring the sustainability of a beloved holiday tradition. For the organization, the grant supports our mission of artistic excellence and community engagement. For the community, it enriches cultural life, promotes inclusion, and strengthens local pride. Sunday's Child's investment will have lasting impact by helping preserve and elevate a shared experience that brings people together across generations and backgrounds.
Life Horse At Grand Review Farm
“Bridging the Barn: Inclusive Equine Wellness for LGBTQ+ Youth and Allies”
Organizational Overview:
Life Horse at Grand Review Farm is a mission-driven nonprofit dedicated to healing and empowerment through the human-horse connection. Located in Milton, Florida, we provide trauma-informed therapeutic riding, equine-assisted learning, and horsemanship education programs. Our services benefit a diverse population, including children, adults, veterans, first responders, individuals with disabilities, neurodiverse youth, and the elderly facing dementia, Alzheimer's, Parkinson's, or stroke recovery. Programs like Horses4Heroes and Purple Spurs specifically support military families and seniors with cognitive challenges. We focus on accessibility, inclusion, and emotional growth, using horses to build confidence, resilience, and community. Through partnerships with local schools, mental health organizations, and advocacy groups, Life Horse serves the Pensacola Bay Area and surrounding counties. Our goal is to foster physical, emotional, and social well-being while advocating for humane horse care and lifelong learning.
Project Summary and Recognition of Sunday’s Child:
The Bridging the Barn project is a trauma-informed equine-assisted program designed to support LGBTQ+ youth and their allies in the Pensacola Bay Area, including Escambia and Santa Rosa counties. Held at Life Horse at Grand Review Farm in Milton, Florida, the program offers weekly sessions focused on emotional regulation, self-confidence, and social connection through horseback activities and peer support. Funds from Sunday's Child will be used to purchase adaptive riding equipment, sensory tools, provide specialized LGBTQ+ and trauma-informed staff training, and offer scholarships to ensure accessibility for underserved participants. The project will run for 12 months, with ongoing evaluation to measure impact and effectiveness. Sunday's Child will be prominently recognized through branded program materials, social media campaigns, community events, and acknowledgment on Life Horse's website and podcast, celebrating their vital role in promoting equality, inclusion, and wellness in the community.
Diversity, Equality, and Inclusion:
Life Horse actively promotes diversity, equality, and inclusion by creating a welcoming, affirming environment for all participants, especially LGBTQ+ youth and underserved communities. Our Bridging the Barn project integrates trauma-informed care with culturally sensitive practices to ensure equitable access regardless of background, ability, or identity. Staff and volunteers receive specialized training in LGBTQ+ awareness and inclusive communication. This commitment aligns with Sunday's Child's mission to foster acceptance and inspire inclusion in the Pensacola Bay Area, empowering marginalized voices through healing equine experiences that build confidence, resilience, and community connection.
Community Impact:
The Sunday's Child grant will significantly enhance Life Horse's capacity to serve LGBTQ+ youth through the Bridging the Barn program, increasing accessibility and inclusivity with specialized training and adaptive equipment. This funding will empower participants to build emotional resilience, social skills, and self-confidence in a safe, affirming environment. By expanding our reach and strengthening community partnerships, the grant will foster greater awareness and acceptance of LGBTQ+ individuals in the Pensacola Bay Area. Ultimately, it will create lasting positive change, promoting mental wellness, equality, and connection for both participants and the wider community.
Lutheran Services Florida
“Nurturing Safe Spaces for Youth”
Organizational Overview:
LSF touches the lives of 1 in 50 vulnerable Floridians every year through programs in early childhood education, child welfare services, foster care/adoption, behavioral health/substance use treatment, temporary emergency shelter, and trauma-informed care for at-risk youth and their families. These programs result in safety for children, help youth overcome trauma, and provide support for adults. LSF operates 9 at-risk youth shelters and accompanying non-residential community counseling programs across the state and provided 750 youth with refuge and trauma-informed care last year. The Currie House shelter in Escambia/Santa Rosa offers no-cost services to approximately 120 youth each year, ages 10–17, providing shelter for up to 21 days along with food, clothing, and counseling. Using evidence-based practices and trauma-informed care, these programs improve mental and behavioral health, strengthen decision-making skills, and enhance social-emotional learning, while reducing the negative impacts youth have suffered due to complex trauma.
Project Summary and Recognition of Sunday’s Child:
Nurturing Safe Spaces for Youth is geared toward creating a positive environment within Currie House by replacing old, worn out furniture, and purchasing more durable and modern items to help us provide activities where youth would be in a more comfortable setting promoting normalcy. The funds will be spent on living room items, such as couches/sofas for youth recreation, mentorship meetings, and group discussions. Funding would also be used for a dining room set that would enable youth a comfortable place to sit between meals and studying/tutoring sessions. The bedrooms also require updating so funds will enable the purchase of mattresses, bed frames, sheets, and relevant items to make the space comfortable for youth. If awarded, we anticipate the purchase within one to three months as we determine vendors and actual cost. We will work with Sunday's Child to recognize them on our website, newsletters, and materials within the shelter.
Diversity, Equality, and Inclusion:
A disproportionate number of homeless youth identify as LGBTQIA2+, often due to family tension, abuse, and/or the emotional challenges that accompany discrimination, stigma, and identity-related conflict. LSF is committed to maintaining safe, dignified spaces for at-risk youth to find refuge and trauma-informed care. This project will replace outdated, institutionalized furniture with comfortable, youth-friendly decor that creates a home-like atmosphere and promotes emotional recovery. Creating an environment where all youth feel valued, heard, and respected, directly aligns with the Sunday's Child mission of promoting equality and inspiring inclusion throughout the Pensacola Bay area.
Community Impact:
Our target population is underage youth impacted by homelessness, with complex issues from violence, substance misuse/mental health human trafficking, and negative interactions with authority. The grant would enable our staff to provide a more comfortable space, with updated furniture to create a sense of normalcy and better supports for youth who face harsher realities and unique hardships in juvenile justice systems. We believe healing begins with a positive environment, and a safe space that is warm and inviting before equally positive interaction can take place. The grant provides an opportunity to create long-term, lasting impact for the population we serve.
309 Punk Project
“Lifting Up Access to the Arts”
Organizational Overview:
309 Punk Project serves our community as a gathering place and an arts and culture hub that has been lifting up access to the arts since our founding as an organization in 2016. The historic home known as "309" houses a vibrant artist-in-residence program and archive. We have hosted 43 artists -- regional, national, and international creatives practicing in all disciplines. Locals and visitors alike turn out to experience their unconventional work and are inspired and enriched by what they encounter: critically engaged photography, painting, sculpture, music, poetry, and performance. 309 is significant not just because it's a striking home in the historic Old East Hill neighborhood and a cornerstone of Pensacola's art and music scene. 309 is also a safe, welcoming space when those spaces are increasingly hard to find, especially for young people, LGBTQ+ folks, people of color, and others searching for a place where they fit in.
Project Summary and Recognition of Sunday’s Child:
The "Lifting Up Access to the Arts" project advances equity and inclusion by installing a platform lift at the 309 house in order to make this space accessible to anyone with mobility issues. Funds will be spent on the purchase and placement of the platform lift next to the porch along with a concrete pad, electrical connection to power the lift, and modifications to the entryway of the house. Construction is slated to begin in early December and be completed by February 2026.
Sunday's Child will be recognized with a sign on the gate in front of the lift, in our outreach to prospective artists, and on promotional materials. Additionally, we will hold a ribbon-cutting event in March 2026 to celebrate the lift completion. The event will spotlight Sunday's Child s the donor that made accessibility, equity, and inclusion a reality with this gift.
Diversity, Equality, and Inclusion:
309 Punk Project promotes diversity and equity and inspires inclusion by fostering a kaleidoscopic artistic community where people can be their authentic selves. We support and advocate for artists who are underrepresented in traditional spaces, and we preserve untold histories. Our mission and activities clearly align with Sunday's Child's mission and vision. This project, in particular, is all about inclusion, providing a place for people who sometimes feel they don't fit in anywhere. By making our building accessible to folks with mobility issues, we're making sure that every person is valued and that no one is left out.
Community Impact:
This grant will have a tangible impact on our organization and our community by paying for a platform lift that will immediately make our arts and culture space accessible to anyone with mobility issues. Nearly 1,000 people visited 309 in 2024. We recognize the need for independent organizations like us to hold space for marginalized communities no matter what and to expand that space wherever possible. Our community includes all types of people with all types of bodies, including people using a wheelchair. With the lift in place, we can be even more the accepting, inclusive organization we strive for.
Stamped LGBTQ Film Festival
“Emma Jones: Preserving Our Past and Inspiring Our Future”
Organizational Overview:
Stamped Film Festival is Pensacola's LGBTQIA+ film festival, showcasing diverse queer cinema from filmmakers around the world. We host an annual multi-day festival featuring screenings, discussions, and community events that transform Pensacola into a welcoming space for LGBTQ+ stories. Beyond our signature festival, we conduct year-round outreach through educational programs, community partnerships, and advocacy initiatives. Our work serves the local LGBTQ+ community by providing representation and visibility, while educating broader audiences about queer experiences. We benefit LGBTQ+ adults, youth, families, allies, and visitors by fostering dialogue, building acceptance, and creating safe spaces for authentic storytelling in Northwest Florida.
Project Summary and Recognition of Sunday’s Child:
Stamped Film Festival will produce a 10-15 miute documentary short showcasing the history of LGBTQIA+ resilience and advocacy in Pensacola by sharing the story of the Emma Jones Society—an organization that began as a P.O. Box under the fictional name "Emma Jones" that allowed members of the local queer community to receive LGBTQ+ publications that were deemed obscene by larger society. The documentary will capture the Emma Jones Society's lasting cultural and economic impact on Pensacola's LGBTQIA+ community—evident today in Memorial Day Weekend celebrations—while preserving this endangered history for future generations. Production will take place in Pensacola with interviews, archival digitization, and local filming. Grant funds will support crew costs, expert consultation, archival licensing, and post-production. Completing Fall 2026, this partnership preserves at-risk history while bringing national recognition to all partner organizations. Sunday's Child will receive prominent recognition through film credits, festival premiere acknowledgment, and educational materials.
Diversity, Equality, and Inclusion:
Stamped's mission directly aligns with Sunday's Child's vision of an inclusive Pensacola by promoting LGBTQ+ visibility and acceptance through film. Our annual festival showcases diverse LGBTQ+ stories, fostering community dialogue through panels, workshops, and roundtable discussions. Year-round programming builds bridges between community members while providing essential resources and education. By creating safe spaces for authentic storytelling and meaningful conversations, Stamped demonstrates the philanthropic leadership Sunday's Child champions. Our work directly serves the community by celebrating LGBTQ+ contributions, increasing visibility, and inspiring greater acceptance— embodying Sunday's Child's commitment to equality and inclusion through impactful charitable initiatives.
Community Impact:
This grant enables Stamped to document transformative LGBTQ+ history challenging assumptions about when Pride began. The Emma Jones Society created inclusive celebrations in 1960s Pensacola, bringing together thousands across racial and gender lines, proving LGBTQ+ advocacy has deep Southern roots. This documentary provides evidence of Pensacola's pioneering civil rights role. Rather than viewing the South as hostile, audiences will see how local LGBTQ+ people stayed to build inclusive spaces—a powerful lesson for today. Sunday's Child's grant award will demonstrate leadership in preserving stories mainstream institutions cannot support, reaching national audiences and inspiring communities throughout the Southeast and beyond.
Greater Pensacola Junior Golf Association dba First Tee Gulf Coast
“Empowering Youth Through Inclusion and Character Development”
Organizational Overview:
Greater Pensacola Junior Golf Association (GPJGA), operating as First Tee Gulf Coast, is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit dedicated to youth development through golf and character education across the Florida Panhandle. Since 2003, the organization has delivered the First Tee curriculum—built around Nine Core Values including honesty, integrity, respect, and perseverance—through over 162 school-based programs and 15 golf‐course sites. Programming serves ages 5–18 of all backgrounds, focusing on building life skills, goal‐setting, conflict resolution, emotional management, and leadership while offering golf fundamentals. We also run a summer tournament series engaging hundreds of youth in competition and enrichment. Benefit accrues most directly to underserved youth—low-income, racially/socially diverse and physically varied—through affordable, scholarship-supported access to inclusive, structured programs. The benefactors of our program are our youth participants learning our 5 key commitments: Pursuing Goals, Growing through Challenge, Collaborating with Others, Building Positive Self-Identity, and Using Good Judgement.
Project Summary and Recognition of Sunday’s Child:
This project is to eliminate transportation as a barrier to our programs. The funds will be spent to purchase a van that can be used to get area youth from school to our Golf and Life Skills Programs. Completion of the purchase would take place soon after grant award, as we locate an available used suitable vehicle. This project serves to provide equitable access for all youth, including LGBTQ+ participants and/or those from non-traditional families. It supports working caregivers and promotes inclusion, ensuring every child—regardless of income, identity, Zip Code or background—can participate fully in a safe, welcoming, and empowering environment. This grant will broaden the reach of our adaptive lessons and inclusive mentorship opportunities. Sunday's Child will be recognized in support proudly. We will hang a banner at our Facility in Warrington, include story on our webpage and social media and include logo on the advertising/wrap of the vehicle.
Diversity, Equality, and Inclusion:
First Tee Gulf Coast is committed to creating a safe, welcoming space where all youth—regardless of race, gender identity, sexual orientation, ability, or income—feel valued and included. Our programs emphasize respect, empathy, and integrity, reflecting a deep commitment to diversity, equity and inclusion. We partner with schools and community centers in underserved areas to ensure broad access, and we offer scholarships so no child is turned away. By removing transportation barriers, this project expands access for marginalized youth and directly supports Sunday's Child's mission of promoting equality, acceptance, and opportunity for all.
Community Impact:
First Tee's diversity, equity, and inclusion efforts positively impact staff, volunteers, youth, and the broader community. By recruiting diverse staff and offering inclusive training, they foster a supportive workplace. Volunteers gain meaningful experiences while helping youth from all backgrounds access programs through scholarships and community partnerships. Youth benefit from relatable mentors, life skills development, and increased opportunity, especially in underserved areas. These efforts build stronger, more connected communities and inspire local leadership. At First Tee – Gulf Coast, DEI- focused grants and national representation have strengthened outreach and ensured lasting impact for participants and families across the region.

Warrington Emergency Aid Center
“WEAC Roof Repair”
Organizational Overview:
Warrington Emergency Aid Center (WEAC) is a non-sectarian, volunteer-run food pantry serving individuals and families experiencing food insecurity in the Warrington area of West Pensacola, Florida. We distribute non-perishable groceries and baked goods monthly to households living in zip codes 32505 through 32508. Each year, WEAC distributes some 15,000 pounds of food to support needy neighbors. In addition to food distribution, WEAC donates socks and shoes to local elementary schoolchildren and shares surplus food with area pantries and nonprofits. We also provide weekly bakery donations to Bright Bridge Ministries, which supports individuals experiencing homelessness and those in recovery programs, as well as to The Village Hands, a children's charity. Our beneficiaries include seniors, veterans, working families, grandparents caring for grandchildren and individuals facing temporary or long-term hardship. As part of our service, WEAC fosters compassion, dignity, and community support — ensuring no one in our neighborhood goes hungry or unseen.
Project Summary and Recognition of Sunday’s Child:
This project will fund WEAC's roof replacement. The existing roof is deteriorated, and leaks during heavy downpours, which have already caused significant food losses. We hold a five-year lease on the building, but lack funds to cover roof replacement, which is estimated at $18,000, according to the quote from the vendor we have selected. Construction, while weather dependent, should kick off once the grant is secured, with completion expected within 30 days. Funds will cover the cost of materials and labor, and any extras would help cover repairs beneath the roof, or repainting ceilings in the main and back rooms. Sunday's Child will be recognized with permanent signage inside the food pantry, and acknowledgment in our printed materials and on social media. This vital infrastructure improvement will protect our food inventory and ensure continued safe service to the hundreds of families who rely on WEAC.
Diversity, Equality, and Inclusion:
Warrington Emergency Aid Center (WEAC) promotes diversity, equality, and inclusion by serving all individuals in need—without discrimination or judgment. Our non-discrimination policy protects clients, volunteers, and staff across a wide spectrum of identities, including race, religion, ability, gender identity, and sexual orientation. We believe dignity and compassion should be extended to everyone, especially during times of crisis. This project supports a safe, inclusive space where food-insecure families from all backgrounds feel welcome. WEAC's values strongly align with Sunday's Child's mission to uplift organizations that celebrate diversity and create equitable access to essential services across the community.
Community Impact:
Receiving this grant will have an immediate and lasting impact on both WEAC and the Warrington community. A new roof will safeguard more than 15,000 pounds of food from weather-related damage, ensuring uninterrupted service to families facing food insecurity. It will also provide a safer environment for our volunteers, many of whom are seniors. By securing the integrity of our facility, the grant allows WEAC to focus on its mission—distributing food with dignity, compassion, and inclusion. This investment strengthens a trusted resource and helps ensure that no one in our neighborhood goes hungry due to preventable infrastructure failures.

We host inclusive competitive events in Florida, Alabama, and Mississippi. Community Impact:
If the Gulf Coast Guard & Percussion Circuit receives the grant, it will greatly improve the quality and accessibility of our events by funding updated sound systems, judges' equipment, and protective flooring.
